12:58 P.M.   Can air currents entirely account for the vast difference in texture seen in these 2 layers of cloud material?  I don't think so. The pattern in the upper cloud layer is very familiar to this observer.  It is seen in clouds that also form linear striations on some occasions.   Striations form in response to electromagnetic radiation from natural and manmade sources, and are an indication of the presence of electromagnetically conductive material such as barium.
